Charly Nicolle and his wife, Lucie Thieblemont, produce classic Chablis wines at their winery with the utmost respect for the unique terroir of the region.
“I love this rustic, winegrower, village life. There are 180 of us living together around our bell tower. It is a lively and warm place. I belong to this thousand-year-old country of Chablis, shaped long ago by the immense and deep changes of the earth, when the sea shifted and left behind the large shells and fossils I now find under the blade of my plow during spring plowing.”
Since 1997, Charly has gradually taken over the family vineyards. He now produces wine from his own Domaine, his father’s Domaine de la Mandeliere, and his grandfather Paul’s vineyards.
Charly is locally recognized for his meticulous winemaking. He uses small steel tanks of various sizes and shapes to enhance and develop lees contact, making his wines truly memorable. His strong connection to the earth and diligent vineyard work impart liveliness and depth to his wines. Charly practices sustainable and organic farming methods.
